Ceiling lights 23IKSS

I finally am able to remove the covers and get rid of the Styrofoam pellets!! Now that the plastic cover is off is there anything I can do to soften those lights? Can I paint the plastic cover or can the lights be replaced with a softer version. I found somewhere that a couple with an Airstream found something to stick over their covers but they had small, can like fixtures.

I am planning to add some frosted plastic of some kind. Maybe even smoked for a couple. They are just too bright but I find that I am bothered by the quality of all LEDs. The nice thing is that since there is no heat you can use just about anything.

I purchased a can of spray frost. One coat didn't do much so I painted the inside of the cover with an acrylic soft white. It looks a little softer. I took pictures last night with all the lights on before painting. I used the tungsten setting on the camera so the picture looks like the real light. As soon as I get the others down, I'll start painting.
