Ceiling vent fans.

On my last day of vacation both exhaust ceiling fans stopped working for no reason. This is on a 2012 Roo. Everything else seems to work in the camper except for the two fans. They both went out exactly the same time. Are there any fuses I'm missing. I had just spent two weeks at the beach. Can the salt air lock them up?

I am not near my camper but I believe my fans have a fuse somewhere around the knob. There is a round black cap that screws off to replace.

If the Vent (Lid) is not fully open they will Not run either! Traveling down the road they can work their way partially closed, even if you have (Vent Covers)! Youroo!!

What model Roo do you have and which two fans are your referring to (I only have one in the bathroom)?

Okay. Here are some ideas ...

The bathroom fan, and possibly the other fan, also needs the light switch on the wall to be turned on in order for the fan to work.

There are fuses, that you checked already, for each fan. Also, check your fuses within your converter's breaker box.

Fan top must be open (which you already verified). Note that the switch in the fan can sometimes get stuck or corroded and can be accessed by taking off the screen or through the roof. But this is doubtful if both fans went out simultaneously.

Okay I have done all the above. The light switch was on verified by the light . I check the converter box also those fuses were ok. We were in the Outer Banks for two weeks lots of salt coatings down there so I'm wondering if the switch did get stuck. It does get very corroded there.

Its worth checking. The switch is indeed exposed to the elements. It's a plunger type and the plunger gets corroded. I would think something like PB Blaster could be used.

The next step would also be to take your voltmeter and begin to diagnose the problem; check for voltage starting at the fan and moving backwards to the converter. These fans are 12-volt items so should be working whether you are on battery or on shore power.

The switch on the fan body - maybe, the wall switch - unlikely.
I had a partially blown fuse once for the bedroom fan which is fused together with the bedroom ceiling lights, the lights were still working but not the fan. As it turned out the fuse still let some current go through (11.5V) but not enough to run the fan, I got so frustrated that I just pulled fuses and found a tiny black speck inside the one in question. I never would have expected the fuse being the culprit esp. since a bad fuse should cause a red LED in the control panel to light up.
