Center Island

Hello friends. We picked up our 2014 23IKSS last July. We have already had a issue with the dinette/couch slide, but that has been resolved. Now, we were out last weekend came home opened the camper to find one of the doors on the island fell apart. 1/2 of the frame of the door is still attached(the hinges are still on and in place. So we made a appointment to bring in the unit on Memorial Day(as we are out this weekend). While having coffee this AM at the dinette I looked over at the island and realized the side panel and all its trim is breaking away from the main frame(?). The entire unit is shaky. Anyone have a similar event? I love this unit but am concerned over these major issues.

i wouldn't consider these "major" issues, based on what other RV owners have to contend with.

these, unfortunately, are in the category of minor issues that most RV's will have.

it appears that they are fixable things that aren't the same as a wall delam or a soft floor or roof.

Have same unit, but have not experienced any of these issues. It would appear to me that the cabinet door failed. Either something hit it or not assembled correctly (not uncommon, not enough glue during assembly, etc.) I don't know if you ever observed this but with the slide closed look how close the oven door handle comes to the island. I think mine may actually just touch. If that is the cabinet door that failed on your unit that may be the issue. Good luck, I am extremely happy with my unit, but also experiencing minor issues. No RV is immune.

I would suggest that you write all your issues down as you find them, that way you will remember to tell your dealer. I hope things get better, so you will be a Happy Camper

I agree. All units have problems. I have a top trim piece near the front bunk that apparently when they stapled missed the wood. Easy enough for me to fix. Water pump when running was rattling the door of the compartment, a couple of felt stick on dots and no more rattle. I would definitely check so make sure nothing is hitting that door. These trailers take some abuse going down the road.
