Check valve in city connection water

Anyone have experience finding a location to purchase and installing a check valve in city water connection. Seems like there is washers and a screen inside the water connection. Not sure what order they go in as they blew out when I turned pump on. I dry camp a lot and when I turn on water pump water the water shoots out from city water connection. My temp fix has been a cork but would like to fix properly. I have a 2012 23ss ROO. Thanks

I just had to replace those items last month in my 5'ver...

Best place to get this stuff is at an RV parts store or Camping World if you have one nearby.

Also, Big R or Tractor Supply might have these things as well.

I was down in the middle of southwestern New Mexico when I needed this stuff, so went in to a True Value Hardware store and found a plastic check valve for lawn sprinklers that would work, but also had to buy a hodge podge of adapters to make it fit.

However, on my way back to the RV I spotted a small RV repair shop and stopped in and luckily he also had a small parts store and had the two pieces I needed...the screen and the check valve!

Now, turned out my screen was OK, but was just clogged full of stuff from the factory, so I cleaned it out and saved it as a backup.

And the brass check valve was so much better than the plastic lawn one from True Value, and only took about 20 minutes to complete the job!

These are the items I purchased (and they do carry both of these at Camping World):

It appears you're doing the opposite of what the OP wants to do, but the backflow preventer would still work on the city water side. I'm guessing your city water was filling your fresh water tank?

Everybody should have a City water threaded nylon/pvc Plug! 1.25 $@ The white rubber caps that are OE turn Black and fall apart in short time anyway! Some members even use the plastic "Blow out Plug" for the same thing! Youroo!!

Youroo,
Are you referring to city water check valve or water pressure regulator?

As a quick fix I ALWAYS carry at least one or the other of these to screw in the city water connection. Screw in and turn the lever closed or simply plug....

Here is a replacement city water port...

Search the upper right search box for FW tank filling on city water. You will find many posts on the subject. Easy fix. Involves turning the pump on and off. Don't remember the sequence. 5 min fix.

Got her fixed. Just jimmied the old check valve and the washer with screen on it was put in the opposite way. Good as new. Thanks for your replies.
