City Water Connection Leak
So I am de-winterizing my Roo, which I blew out with air pressure and filled with antifreeze before temperatures dropped, and there's water spraying at the city water/hose connection. And water is spraying inside the trailer at the connection.
I tried tightening the coupler from the inside but it's still leaking on both sides of the trailer. Anybody know what this might be?
I disassembled the pump bypass in case that caused low pressure on one end, but it didn't fix the problem.
Mike.

Would the yard hose directly in the city water connection bust the valve? I forgot to connect to my RV hose at first.

Do you know what kind of pressure your house water is running at?

No, but I'm now thinking it's the reason ... What do you think?

That's a bit high, but I don't think that would be enough to make it leak that much. If it's leaking on outside and inside, are you sure it didn't freeze and crack? I have a separate inlet for the antifreeze but it doesn't put any antifreeze in the plumbing from the city inlet down to the valve. When I winterize I let the pump pressurize the system with the antifreeze, then go out and push in the check valve at the city water inlet to make sure antifreeze gets in that section. (Standing off too one side!) Not sure if all tt's are plumbed that way. Good luck!

Residual water can cause issues as I found out last week. I ran water lines to my garage for my pressure washer and ran them with a slope so they could gravity drain into the basement drain fitting. Wouldn't you know it, I now have a leak in the pex line in my garage even though the line was drained and blown dry with air compressor too!
I gotta remove a ton of slotwall in my garage to repair it ;-(
Good luck, your camper repair should be easy.

I bet that's it - the only part of my plumbing that didn't get any antifreeze. Have to see if there's a check valve. If not, I need to definitely figure something else out.

Yours is a fairly new trailer, however, I've experienced a cracked city water connection. Easy to replace.

I am using it week after next for Spring Break, and out of town next week, so I have to pay someone to do it. Hate it.

Would you be able to find someone who could do it better than you in your needed time frame?

If you take the outside fitting off (remove 3 screws) there is a check valve attached to the fitting. It just screws on easy to fix should not take any longer then 1/2 to 1 hour if not less. I had to replace mine because the valve was not working and when I was using the water pump water was leaving the TT through the city water connection.

Ready for this? The hose washer had fallen out or was pulled out somehow ... Problem solved.

I had that happen last year, went out for our last trip of the year and had water blowing every where.
Pulled it apart the little red washer had walked.
Good thing I had a couple of spares.... ...
