After cleaning the canvas on the zip sides i found that the waterproof treatment also was gone. I had to retreat the canvas to get it waterproof again. I used the hand spray type 303 brand Fabric Spray instead of the silicone based spray can type. This is not a problem with the vinyl top.

i think rsdata is talking about the canvas windows and i believe he bought it used.
they are not vinylized canvas like the rest of the tent end.

you don't have to do any waterproofing unless you feel the need to.
we've had our '07 Roo 23SS for 8 1/2 years now and have NEVER had to do any waterproofing.

i suggest you wait and see how your tent ends do before worrying about waterproofing.

Popup Gizmos work nice in protecting your bunk ends besides reflecting heat.

I think I would tend to agree with the above comments.

I took possession of my current HW296 pop up and noticed that Rockwood used a different material on the side zippered panels (side bunk end windows). It was not the nice HD vinyl they use through our the pop up. I was concerned about this material leaking. I also came across a few posts where people had leaks and were getting the canvas replaced. I popped my unit up and sprayed water from a hose on it to do a controlled experiment to see if it leaked. Mine did not. I did go out and by some Kiwi HD water repellent (silicone spray) just in case.

When it comes to an RV - water is not your friend. You need to keep that stuff out!

I am lifted by the above post where he got 8+ years without a leak. Lets all hope.

Vin.
