you don't have to do any waterproofing unless you feel the need to.
we've had our '07 Roo 23SS for 8 1/2 years now and have NEVER had to do any waterproofing.
i suggest you wait and see how your tent ends do before worrying about waterproofing.
I think I would tend to agree with the above comments.
I took possession of my current HW296 pop up and noticed that Rockwood used a different material on the side zippered panels (side bunk end windows). It was not the nice HD vinyl they use through our the pop up. I was concerned about this material leaking. I also came across a few posts where people had leaks and were getting the canvas replaced. I popped my unit up and sprayed water from a hose on it to do a controlled experiment to see if it leaked. Mine did not.
I did go out and by some Kiwi HD water repellent (silicone spray) just in case.
When it comes to an RV - water is not your friend. You need to keep that stuff out!
I am lifted by the above post where he got 8+ years without a leak. Lets all hope.
