Complete and Utter Brain Fart

I'm almost embarrassed to tell you this...

So I keep my Roo at my lake site full time (at least till the cabin is finished). We all go down for the holiday weekend, and I start opening up the camper. I drop the bunks, get the electric plugged in and step in the door to deploy the slide. I hit the 'slide out' button, and get no movement, but get the clank-clank-clank of the ratchet clutch. Damn. Something is stuck. I try a couple of times and get nothing.

So I go outside to take a look, get all the way around the camper and stop in my tracks. Then, and only then did I notice that the slide was already out. We were down the weekend before to work on the cabin, and I ran the slide out so we could eat lunch in the A/C at the dinette. I must have totally forgotten to run the slide back in when I locked up.

Ok, so I can believe that I forgot to run the slide in the week before. But I'm shocked that I not only didn't notice it was out when I opened the door, nor did I notice when I was getting the clank out of the ratchet clutch, but I didn't even notice the slide being out when I hooked up the electric!

I'm in serious doubt about my mental capacity at this point.

Tim

I left my umbilical unplugged from my TV once in Quartzite,,,,by time we got to Phoenix, there was half of a plug. The rest was worn off dragging down the highway. Cost me $118 at Camper World. DUHHHH....don't feel bad. We're ALL highly intelligent people,,,,simple because we know the GOOD LIFE of RV'ing.....We just have momentary slips,,,,,,does all this sound credible????

I don't see any long term problems from this unless the cabin you are constructing has slides.

We've been out on 6 trips since getting our new RV in April. Changed out batteries, filled propane tanks, went over it with a fine tooth comb. Few weeks ago get to camp ground and power hitch wouldn't work. Playing with the inline fuse and noticed something red. Was the switch for the battery disconnect I never noticed I had.

Tim, if it makes you feel any better (gives you someone else to laugh at), I somehow locked my keys in my trailer Monday while I was tearing down to go back home. I had to drive 80 miles round trip to get my spare set from the house...which I couldn't find when I got there.

I did find them eventually, as they were in the console of my truck the whole time, where I had put them the last time I went camping before this trip.

Now, I had to make another 80 mile trip back.

So whatever you got, it's contagious.
