coupler lock

I have a 2012 23SS. I have tried different coupler locks and none fit. What do you all use? We have been using a zip tie but only doing short trips. I have a 5 hour trip coming up for the 4th and want something more secure. HELP!

While not a true coupler lock, this is what I use on my camper. Close the coupler, run this thru to lock it shut.

Keyed alike system is best as there are fewer keys to lose. Keep the spare keys separate (in TT) then you will always have them when you need them except when you lose the TT keys - don't ask.

my problem is finding one that fits. I found one that fits thru the hole (very small) but when its in the lock position you can't because it recesses. You need something that is curved or bendable and have not found anthing that works yet.

I had to grind away a little of the material from each side of the portion where the holes are located. There is a LOT of material so I was not worried about losing strength of the lockdown tab. Not a lot was required but it is (seemingly) more than mild steel. Primed and painted, it looks like nothing was done and the lock fits perfectly.

All that you need is a coupler pin, walmart, camping world, tractor supply, all have them. the hole should be standard, if for some reason yours is small, use the goose neck pin, it is a little longer but thinner.

i got a Master lockset. it has the pin lock for the coupler latch, a pin lock for the hitch in the receiver and a lock assembly that goes inside the coupler "cup" and locks it out when it's in storage.

Try to find a combination padlock with a long shackle. No keys to loose.

We used this on our old pop-up. It doesn't work on the Flagstaff, but it is curved and might fit the bill. Products - Shrouded Padlocks - 187XD - Master Lock®

I use something like this to lock the coupler on the hitch ball when travelling.
Amazon.com: Curt Manufacturing 23022 Coupler Lock Brass 2 Keys Included Packaged: Automotive

If you're looking for a lock for security while in storage, this is what I use
Amazon.com: Reese Towpower 72783 Universal Coupler Lock: Automotive

Master Lock makes this one for the same pupose.

I just replaced the Master-Lock set that we'd purchased for the popup with this set from Reese:

I found it at Home Depot for $35. Everything fits great on the 23SS except the big U on the coupler lock. I have to take the grinder to the sides of the hitch a little bit.
