Dometic Refer Fan? Are they hard to replace with a PC fan

Has anyone swapped the loud fan on the new Dometic 7.0 Cubic Feet refer with a BB computer fan? I am pretty good at fixing things and I have a bunch of those fans laying around?

Link to a thread where I modified the stock baffle FR used on our dometic fridge is here. There are pics to show the fans I used and farther down the thread I have a link to an internal fan I installed as well.

The key is using fans that move enough air but are quiet.
The one's I used are here.

What is the difference with the two cents for the refer on my slide as opposed to my Shasta which had one lower cent and a roof vent about the refer?

Is one setup better than the other kind?

The one roof vent and one side vent works better as heat rises...better ventilation out of the top roof vent

If your fridge is in a slide out ... you have to have two vents in the wall. They can't put the roof vent in a slide. If your fridge is not located in a slide out, you'll have a lower vent in the wall and the upper vent in the roof. As stated it works better, but there is no choice with a slide out.

Ah my Shasta had one cent in the side and roof cent up top but this Roo has Refer in slide so two cents on side, always wondered what the diff was, makes sense if vent is on the roof to vent heat out

You can easily replace any of those fans with a computer style fan, you could even get a larger one ( which is always better) and still get a quieter unit.

Hope this helps and Happy camping
