Door latch

Hi, I am on my 2nd trip with the 17' Roo, and am enjoying it, and spending some time customizing it. Thanx to the tip of using the removable plastic hooks to hang stuff.

Today's project is to figure out how to use the front doors without having to open and close each one separately each time we go in or out. There are 2 latches, one for the screen, and one for the main door. Shouldn't we be able to lock the screen to the main door, and just use the main door handle and latch by itself? Is there a trick to keeping the screen door connected to the main? Or is this just the way it is?

Have a great day to all. And thanx.

Mine works like all the others that I have used. You push the screen door together with the outside door and they are attached. To seperate, you push down the leaver that would be used to open the screen door and they seperate.
