Door Lock is Broken

I have a broken door lock on our 2013 Shamrock 233S. I thought maybe someone might have jammed something in the key hole as the key won't go in all the way. I crawled in through the emergency entrance thinking I could just unlock it from the inside using the lever but it still won't budge.... Any ideas? I am still under warranty but the dealer is a half hour away.

Thanks

Have you tried pulling the door tighter from the inside and then trying the lever?

Can you disassemble the door lock by removing the screws on the inside portion of the door latch? Typically the latch is sandwiched together and held by 4 screws, one at each corner. By removing those screws, the latch should come apart and be removable from the door.

So, I was at the dealer going through the pdi when the dealer showed me what one of his customer had done. A Class A Berkshire owner was out camping. Well he was having a good time with his buddies and stumbled back to his camper. When he realized he lost his keys. So he stumbled back to his buddies. Not finding his keys and the two having a higher blood alcohol level than IQ came up with the brilliant idea to use a sawzall. They cut through the door and cut out the door lock. I wish I took pictures.

My lock on my ex-Kodiak did the same thing. I think there is a recall on a bunch of locks, plus I think they are made cheaply. Buy another one. Link to thread in other forum.

I had a RV next to me last august beating on there door at 11:00pm.
Their door lock jammed up they were trying to get in. I just put on a new door lock days before knew that there is 6 screws to remove the lock. Four screws are on the inside lock plate and two are on the bolt plate. After beating up the outside of the door they went thru a window and tried to unlock the door and failed again. In the end they took the four screws out of the face plate and pry the other screws off the bolt plate to get the lock assembly off.

ps. there was a recall on the lock.

Been there & done that! Our lock failed as well with exact same conditions. Ended up something inside the lock cylinder itself had failed, take the 4 screws on the inside plate out, the two on the strike plate and take all your parts (and both keys) to your dealer and tell them you want a new one under warranty. They are real easy to remove and put in, my only word of caution is to use some blue lock-tite on the screws and DON'T over-tighten them...it is easy to "squeeze" the door faces and compress the foam core so just get it in place and tighten until you just start to see the door face (inside &/or out) dimple and stop there.

Recall on door locks. Google it, and I'm sure yours is included.

So again, on a lighter note..during our 7 hour pdi, just ready to pull out (1/2 hour after they closed) I did what was routine and went to lock the door with the brand new keys. Yes, you guessed it. they didn't work. Either set. The dealer went in and grabbed all the keys from the delivery they got with my camper, none worked.

That isn't fun. Did they have a new lock to replace? One of those combo types.
