Door problems - 23SS

I hate the 90deg opening door on the 2012 23SS (love the rest of the trailer!). On our first long last trip last year, the screws on the spring/telescopic door opener pulled right out of the door in a gust of high wind . The dealer fix was to put in larger self-tapping screws. After another camping season it looks as though it will eventually happen again. We can't leave the door open when there is any kind of wind,as it will keep flapping and banging against the stop in the opener, and the door blocks the view from inside the trailer Why oh why couldn't the door open the other way and clip against the side of the trailer? Has anyone come up with a secure way of holding the door open? I noticed that on the newer models the door opener is on the bottom of the door - is that any better?

The same thing happened to our door. It's just a poor design. The lateral force is to much for the aluminum frame of the door. We insisted on a replacement door and had the dealer run bolts through the new door. It's held up great so far. The bonus was that we got the newer screen door with the 'hockey puck' opener.
