Cool Economical Window Blinds For Roo & Others

I am posting in the Roo Section - but this mod will work for other models as well. High on the mod list for my wife was blinds for our 21SS instead of the supplied curtains. After pricing "Custom" sized accordion cordless blinds (Expensive!) I made a trip to the local Lowes home center. I found stock Allen & Roth brand off the shelf accordian blinds that serve the purpose perfectly. Our store stocks off white and a cappucino color. We went with the cappucino color for our "Westport" interior. The 23" and 39" width work perfectly inside the standard valances with no modifications. I did our entire slide (4 blinds) for $140. These are light filtering however - not light blocking. All the hardware/casings are pastic and lightweight. I added ¾" felt pads to the backs so the won't "Clang" on the window frames.

look what we have done to our mini lite curtains valances. I replaced them with one half pine wood instead of these valances metal holders. We also added liners on curtains.

Nice job on the boxed valances. Are they covered with the original valance material - or did you have to puchase extra material?

A couple of the windows in our TT came with boxed valences. I would LOVE to do the rest. I love throwing my keys or cell phone up there.

We bought some fabric from forest rivers. We used aprx 48 inches by 84 inches and this is covering the kitchen venitian blind also. There was nothing on this one . The valance box was made with 1/2 inch finger joint pine from home depot.
