I try to drain mine before leaving camp site while I getting the trailer ready to leave. Usually not much left in it any way. Leave the valve open till I get home. Later RJD

I just turn the water heater off then run the hot water out, as soon as the water runs cold open the pressure valve drop the plug, done.

I will not risk a burn for anyone or reason.

We flush most of the fw into the black tank at the campsite just before leaving. It sloshes around on the short ride to the dump station and helps clean the tank. After dumping I pull ahead , then add a squeeze of Dawn into the toilet, flush a bit more water down, and hit the road.
