Entertainment Centre

Hello,

I've had the entertainment centre replaced due to the DVD player not working properly. The dealer installed a brand new unit, a different model, however, we still have problems with the DVD section.
During a movie the unit "freezes" up similar to pausing, none of the controls work and my wife noticed a "error" disc in the display, she's really not sure what she read...
2012 Roo 17

BTW the discs all work in my home DVD, they clean and free of finger prints.

Thanks

Before I assume it is a concertone unit, can you give us the model/name brand of the player?

Additionally, are the discs "originals" or "original copies."

Our Concertone plays original (factory) DVDs and DVD-R copies flawlessly. It will NOT play DVD+R or DVD+/-RW disks at all (choppy and many fail to loads).

that is still a Concertone unit. there's a Concertone sub-section in the Tech and Repair section here, where Bob Fields, a Concertone rep, can answer questions or you can send him an email.

When they replaced your unit with the GT2 they would have needed to enlarge the mounting hole. Obvioulsy they did this since it is not hanging out of the wall, BUT please remove the unit yourself to make sure it slides in and out of the mount hole easily - ie it is not jammed in there causing the unit to be twisted or distorted enough to cause issues with the dvd drive itself.

other than that, if the unit does not play cds or dvds properly ask them to check it and replace as necessary. Inconvenient no question, but the nice thing about having a warranty.

Please feel free to contact me directly. My contact info is on every post I make...

I'm still having issues, the dealer keeps telling me the 2nd unit they ordered of the new style is not in yet, I'm not sure if it's an inventory problem from the supplier or the dealer's service is the problem.....

so I then presume they will replace under warranty then right? Seems like the logical next step...

yes, however, it's been 5 months with defective units, i'm not sure how the 3rd will perform....and with only a couple months left of camping who knows if i'll have it by then to test. i won't be testing during the winter...and then next spring it'll be out of warranty....

I understand if you want to wait to have it replaced, but your warranty will expire when it expires no matter. You don't get extensions every time they replace a part. Better to replace it as soon as you can so you can enjoy it and have a longer time during your warrranty period to ensure everything is ok. It is a quick swap...
