When I was first having my bunk end leaks I explored different options. I looked at the J-Channel and a simple clear drywall protector. Installing the J Channel would have taken a little time and some mods. I did put the corner protector as quick temp fix to protect and cover that seal. It acted as a great rain deflector and it kept the rain out. Since then, the dealer fixed my bunk end leaks under warranty and replaced the black seals. So I have not had the need for the gutters. Although I would like to install some eventually.
When I was at the dealers lot, I noticed that the other Hybrid brands had factory installed gutters and what appeared to be some solid closing mechanisms Kodiak and Jayco. On the new Roos onsite there was no change in the door closing mechanism. As a matter of fact, the black door seal was pealing off on both models and not installed evenly & flush. (Someone is going to get a leaker)
See pics for J-channel, deflector and Roo peeling seals.
