Finally...winter is leaving !!!
Sometimes I envy people who lives down south....they go camping anytime they want.
We bought a Roo 23ws and got it shipped in November. All we did is put a cover on it and ........wait !!! Camping season is short here in Maine....about 5 months (maybe six) , and all we could do is look at that hybrid through the living room window.
All winter long, we made a list of things we need for that camper and bought them. I also made a list of mods I have to do when spring arrives.
Finally......Winter is on the way out, and I might remove the cover from it this coming week end.....YAHOO !!! This for us is a big event!
Also this week end is an opening house at Lee's Family campers sales and service with raffles and prizes, and the next opening house will be at Seacoast RV ....We look forward to those. I feel everything regarding camping is big here in Maine.
Maybe I shouldn't be envying people from down south.....I don't think it's as special for them as it is for us !

It's funny living here in Southern CA and hearing about having to wait for Winter to end to go camping....For the DW and myself we like to plan more local trips during the Winter here when it isn't so warm and when Summer does come we like to head north along the coast where it is cooler...I was hoping to run into some cooler weather during Presidents Day weekend when we took a trip up to Pismo Beach about 100 miles North of Santa Barbara and low and behold it was in the 80's all weekend...Geez I didn't even get a chance to wear a pair of long pants

Winter is like boomerang kids!
Never over!
I will wait till the end of next month, most of the snow will be gone up north.

I can't even understand how people in the colder areas, can stand such short camping seasons.
When we lived in California, we mainly camped spring and fall. NEVER camped in the summer since campgrounds were packed during then.
We often also camped in the winter.
Even now, living in Washington, we can still camp at least 9 months out of the year.

Still in the 50's here....but we are starting to get close...my wife was just asking this morning if we would get another cold blast down to -30 before spring hits...we have snow sometimes in April or May...I just don't know yet if I can get excited...seems risky

Well...enjoy taking your cover off in Maine...we just got socked with 10 inches of snow this week in central Michigan. Don't think my cover is coming off until April!

I love winter. School is in session and few vacation. The only challenge is snowbirding in FL during Jan/Feb/Mar. Spring and fall school is also in session and few vacation ~~ greatest time to go. Once school is out most are filling campgrounds so the 5er is stored and the boat is out on the Atlantic chasing fish!

Well down here in Massachusetts it was a whopping 38 degrees today, snow maybe gone but I'm not taking the cover off until at least the end of March. We only got out once last year due husband's surgery in the beginning of summer, is been a long year and we plan on making up this year. Spring can't come soon enough.
We have our summer vacation planned for Old Orchard KOA in Maine, is great camping up there!

Hope your husband is doing better now....and that you will enjoy a full summer of camping to make up for last year!
We too reserved a week in Old Orchard. For many years now, we always reserved the first week of July at our favorite campground (Hid'N Pines)

It was 57F today in northern Illinois. BUT: weather forecast says accumulating snow Monday night.
So winter isn't done with us yet. We've had 8 inches on May 1st.

He is thank you, what made it worse was that was the first year with our first TT. I've heard of Hid'N pines but never been, it's on my ever growing list of places to check out.

50f in Maine today.............no snow on the ground and no snow in the forecast for the next seven days. I think we've been lucky in Maine this winter. I used my snow blower only twice so far...

We opened up the Windjammer this weekend to put a few purchases inside and do a little dusting. Not going to dewinterize for a while as there are freezing temperatures forecasted again. As for winter, we enjoy the break to catch up on home projects and see our non camping friends. Can't imagine not having the catch up time.

Thinking of camping where there is a good bathhouse, and not de-winterizing. I have a vacation at the end of March.
