Welcome and congrats!! Ditto on the WDH! I have a Huskey Centerline.

ETA: I don't think they drilled mine...??? And it didn't take 2hrs to install either.

ok, and it feels a little weird when the wind hots the trailer, was not sure what that was when we first towed it, but you get used to it. no one warned us about the chugging, and i freaked out. lol

Does the husky work ok? Im willing to pay the few extra dollars for the equalizer I don't want to wait to pick it up. I'm assuming it is going to take 5-7 days if order it tomorrow.

I like it very much, but I have nothing to compare it too. I did check mine and nothing was drilled in to.

I have a E2 WDH and it's a simple bolt on setup. Although you will need some larger sockets and a air wrench is handy. The E2 is what they call a "4 point weight distribution and sway control system". E2 is from the same manufacturer as Equal-i-zer, ProgressMfg, Inc.

That seems a little pricey for setup, as most dealers I thought included the setup as part of the deal. But maybe not...

As for newbie towing - get your WDH setup correctly, get some tow mirrors, brake controller - install and adjusted per manual, and take it slow on the road, and take your right turns wide.

The Equal-i-zer has a combination of 4 friction areas while the E2 has 2-points of friction sway control.

As far as cost goes, the 600/6000 Equal-i-zer with 4-point sway control is $430 at RVW and the E2 is $260. I have not used the E2 and connot comment how well it works, but I would strongly consider the Equal-i-zer for $170 more.

Yeah I went with the 4 way 1000lb just in case I decide to upgrade in future. None of the local dealers would match their price so I ordered from rvw. I probably will not have it in time for my pick up on Wednesday so I may have to delay it a few days. Thanks for all your help.

great choice! you won't be sorry. be sure to get the ball ordered too, unless you already have one. WDH's don't include the ball.

you might need a special-sized socket to install the ball.
the videos on Progress Manuf.'s website will help with the install.
RVW might already have a video for it on their website. they have lots of Roo videos also.

I'm still waiting for the hitch to be delivered. I'm about 20 miles from the dealer and I was originally suppose to pick up today. Do you think I would be ok if I pick it up without the weight distribution hitch? The tongue weight for my truck is 650 and the dry weight of trailer is 570. My towing capacity is 6500 and he gross vehicle weigh of trailer is 5743/4182 dry.

Take a tool kit. On our first trip, I left a smoking trail as the trailer brakes were locked up. Then the kitchen drawers all fell out. My wife was in tears. Good luck.
