From useless to useful
I did a quick mod today to make those silly useless shelves in the shower a lot more functional.
Parts: two nylon pad eyes, four waterproof rivets and some bungee cord.
The bungee cord does a good job of keeping the shampoo bottles where they belong.

That is great idea. From the looks of the shelf, it does look a bit worthless.
Vin.

Is this pic upside down?
Why would they put the shelves there?

It looks like those waterproof rivets are a style of pop rivets. Where did you get them?

DK--I have those same useless shelves. You have to wonder what the heck they were thinking, they don't hold anything. I like your mod.

All of the parts for this mod came from my fishing kayak rigging kit. Places like Hook1 have the parts, but I bet West Marine or a similar store would too.

You're welcome. The rivets are aluminum so they won't rust, and they also have a rubber gasket under the head so when they cinch down it creates a nice seal. I still filled the hole in the shower wall with caulk just to be safe.

But sadly it is not upside down. Those shelves are below the faucets and are knee / thigh high depending on how vertically challenged or gifted you are.

Then please accept my apology.
Who did they build that shower for Minnie Me?
I congratulate you on coming up with a solution to the puzzle of keeping the bottles on the shelves.

Actually, when you suggested it was upside down, I turned my phone around and could easily see how that perspective would work too. I'm tall, so I'd actually prefer it that way. But then again, that would make the pre-modification shampoo bottle-to-foot impact a lot more painful.
