We must not have them around here because I've never heard of them before I started posting here. Paper wasps seem to be the biggest problem for us.

I guess it is worth to get them for the $16 as opposed to having troubles with little critters

We have it on our fridge vent, hot water heater and furnace. Cheap insurance.

I put them on all the openings to keep the mud wasps out. It's easy to kill the wasps, but hard to clean up their mud huts. Doing so inside a camper opening would not be fun.

As they say, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. If you are paying $16 your are paying to much. $12.06 from Walmart.com, have it shipped to the nearest store and you pay no shipping.

we installed them on our 2012 trailer and now the 5th wheel. Hot water heater, fridge and furnace vents all protected now.

when we (I) took the grate off the fridge there were tons of dead bugs in there from the previous owner as well as a white garbage bag taped across the opening to prevent snow and bugs. Apparently he didnt know that for a few dollars he could have protected the unit against the bugs.

We live in central Maryland and have a big problem with STINK bugs (sorry, I don't know their real name). These bugs get into everything in late fall including your refrig, furnace and WH. I have screens on all three just to keep them out. A friend almost lost their MH when they started up their WH for the first time last spring. Black smoke and flames came out the exhaust when dead STINK bugs started to burn. The screens are a life and rig saver.

For the first time in 65 years I damn near died from a hornet sting. Spent 3 days in a hospital with a tube down my throat. They tell me a paramedic saved my life, by the time they got to me I had stopped breathing.

I now have screens covering the vents on my 5er. The fewer of those critters I see the better. They are cheap and easy to install so why take chances? I have been stung many times, by bees (use to keep them!), hornets and wasps and never had a problem till last year. I might not be so lucky next time.

No issues up here in New England. But, when I winterize, I use packing tape to close off the furnace vents and trash bags over the fridge and wh doors mainly to keep the spiders out.

Yes, yes, yes. I once observed a bird going in and out of a furnace vent carrying sticks and twigs for a nest. I told the owner. Can you imagine the fire when he turned the furnace on that winter!

Mud daubers built there home in the air conditioner of our previous RV. Was getting it ready for a trip, tested the A/C and the fan would not com on. Went on the roof, pulled the A/C cover and there was one huge cake of mud between the fan blade and the frame. After a good cleanup all was well.

I put screens on all openings (hot water heater, furnace, and refrigerator) except for the grate that the frig drip line comes out of. I needed to trim the screen to fit around the drip hose and decided to put it off. Guess what I found when I removed the access cover to the frig when prepping for a trip? A hornet nest the size of a tennis ball. I saw it only after I got stung by one of the residents. OUCH!!!. I soon covered that grate with the notched screen.

We live in Northern Alabama and I highly recommend screening all openings.
