The Honda site is not clear about it, but according to Wise Sales, the Honda EU2000i Companion model can be used by itself. I do not know if the 30-amp RV receptacle functions or not. Obviously if it functions, it would not provide 30 amps, but what the single generator can provide (16.7 amps max, 13.3 amps maintained). There is still a 20-amp receptacle, but no 12-volt DC receptacle.

I be 1 of those members. I have run the AC off of the generator at 3500'. There is another member that has done so at 7000'. But that is with nothing else running along with the AC.

I have the Honda 2000 Companion. It works just fine. It does NOT, however, have a RV plug. It is a normal 30 Amp plug, you will need an adapter to use that plug.

I thought I was being smart buying the Companion first. I thought it had the RV plug. I would just go with the normal one. Either way you will have to buy an adapter to get the most power out of it. By the way I bought it at Wise Sales. Good price, free shipping.
