Getting new roo 233s , should we upgrade ac?

We live in MO and it can get very hot/humid here in the summer, can the standard ac keep the camper cool in the bunks?

We had a 3 bunk hybrid several years ago when the kids were still at home. It had the standard 13.5K AC unit. We did the Reflectix mod in the tent end window areas and used space blankets on the tent end tops and the AC kept up fine even when it was hot and humid outside. Sometimes it helps to keep the curtains closed when it gets real hot to keep the cool air in the main area during the heat of the day. The two mods also help in the cooler temps to keep the heat it.

you need to tell us if you have Popup Gizmos(PUGs) or the generic solar blankets(also known as all-weather/sportsmen/solar blankets) for on top of the canvas ends.
second, have you gotten Reflectix to put in the tent widows?

with both of these two mods, which are the #1 and #2 hybrid mods, you should be fine with the 13.5k a/c.

get the upgrade. Its worth the money. I live in MO, and have a 21ssl. I can get it as cool as I want it on any day.

If you upgrade and don't need it, its just a couple hundred dollars wasted. but.... if you stay with the standard A/C and find it struggles to keep up, you will be kicking yourself in the butt for not going to the bigger one.

I didn't have that option, but would have taken it! The A/C does okay, but we've thought about upgrading. We use the PUG's and keep the curtains of the bunk ends closed.

We paid for the upgraded AC in 233s and it wasn't much more to do so. I can't tell you how it is in the Roo because we take delivery sometime in March.
I can tell you on our 26' popup (when open) we installed a 15btu AC and it was awesome for camping in South Florida. Never had to turn it more than 1/2 way and it didn't have to kick on as often.
We will be using the Gizmos as well.
