Getting ready for some Football!

So I love my new, to me, Roo 19. I have loved everything about it, but now it's quickly becoming football season.

So I live in Phoenix, AZ so we can be camping year round, which is awesome. The mix of cool woods, beer and 49ers football is just too alluring to pass up. I need a recommendation from the group. I need to get the following before September:
  • TV
  • DirecTV Dish
  • Replacement Speakers (the factory ones are terrible)
  • Possibly are replacement for the Jensen CD/DVD player

I would love to be able to have the largest TV possible and still look nice inside. Also I want to be able to take the TV outside and mount it on the mounting bracket where the outside grill mounts.

We do mostly boondocking and we already have a pretty good generator that can handle just about anything.

Thanks for the help everyone.
Chad

First, you should have a 2 battery setup, preferably two 6v golf cart batteries.
Second, hardwire an inverter to plug in the tv and Sat receiver. Then you don't have to run the generator constantly.

By the way, GO NINERS! (From a Niners fan, living in Zombie Seahawk Fan Land)

If it didn't cost so much to ship I would send you my Dish for free. I have one of those dishes with the tripod and only used it once.

I switched to Dish and pathway x2 and don't plan to ever do anything manually again, lol.

I'd buy a nice 21 inch Samsumg tv and use the tailgater satellite system. Later RJD

You didn't mention if you are a college or Pac-12 football fan. If so, know that DirecTV does not carry the Pac-12 network. However, now that they have merged with AT&T (a Pac-12 partner) they may eventually.
Go Oregon Ducks, Go Seahawks! (P.s. I was really bummed when the Seahawks and 49ers were put in the same division because the 49ers were my other favorite team).

I went as cheap as I could, although I'm a directv subscriber at home, my decision was easy.

I purchased the Wineguard carry out mp1 (manual) as well as a tripod. I purchased a triplett 3275 satellite finder and purchased Dish Align Pro app for my iPhone.

The sat finder, and apps on my iPhone are great tools to line up, level and obtain the sat signal in about 5 minutes as long as I've got a decent shot at the southern sky.

I keep my directv receiver in the Roo, but purchased a long hdmi cable so that all I have to move is the television, and hook up the longer hdmi cable from the tv outside to the receiver inside....less work, etc.

All of that said, the Wineguard carry out mp1 is not hd. If you want hd quality, you would have to look at their other products.

Oh....I forgot.....

So while I appreciate everyone telling me the faults of directv, I happen to work for them so I get the whole DVR setup and service for free, plus living in Phoenix and wanting to see the 9ers..it's the only option.

I'm much more concerned about the TV and sound recommendations. also the dish the supply is a home based one and not sure what I would need to use it. Or should I just purchase different dish.

I don't think anybody told you the faults of directv, so I'm confused. Secondly, you asked for suggestions pertaining to four different categories. I don't really have suggestions on a larger tv, jensen stereo, nor speakers, but I did take time to respond to you on the dish equipment that works great for my family.

Redstick, my apologies if you believe I was being harsh or misconstruing what you or others have posted, including the faults of DIRECTV. I wasn't trying to be defensive about DIRECTV (I used local cable companies before I started working for them, a year ago, and will again once I leave the company).

I truly appreciate everyone's thoughts on this subject. This forum /community has helped me at every turn in this new adventure. I was only trying to let other posters know I can't move to a Dish setup because of my situation. Again I'm sorry for poorly articulating my previous post.

I put Polk speakers inside and outside on our last camper. I believe all the automotive Polk speaker are weather proof.
