Heated Mattresses

Anyone else had their mattresses stop heating? Seems weird that all 3 of ours quit at the same time. 2014 Shamrock 183.

Do your AC outlets have power?

the control boxes work off of 110 AC... You have 3 boxes... all of them should not quit working all at once.

Put an extension cord from 110 AC from somewhere outside the camper to the control boxes one at a time to see if they light up and heat the matresses...

If that works then you must have blown a fuse somewhere among the line.

The fuse box is below the fridge.

Wouldn't it be the breaker, not the fuse, since fuses are 12v DC?

correct

switched breaker, not replaceable fuse...

both are located in the panel below the fridge...

Yes. All 3controllers light up. Just no more hat from either of the matresses. I’m gonna get ahold of a multimeter and see if I’m getting power out of them. It’s a three prong connection so I’m wondering what values would I check for at the connection of mattress for continuity etc.

I’ve got power and they do light up. I need to get ahold of a multimeter and check them. Im
Gonna assume the center pin might be ground and I should have power on the other two. I’m wondering if we haven’t wrapped the cords too tight for storage at some point and maybe broken a wire. We don’t use them often but when we do they are nice to have.

It begs the question that all three power boxes all break at once... chances are NOT

I suspect that the power boxes put out a low DC voltage from the output wire of the controller, increasing as the box is turned up to 5 from 1. ( just guessing)

you know the mattresses do not get HOT to the touch, like plug it in and I can feel them getting hot in 5-15 minutes, is not going to work.

Instead plug the mattress in, cover it with a sleeping bag or heavier blanket and in 30 mins you should feel a small difference of temperature next to the mattress then above the blanket. They make gentle heat...

I use my heating mattresses often in the fall and winter in the FL panhandle when overnight temps get into the 40's. Even with a mattress topper foam pad above the heated mattress it gets cozy.

That done it. Thanks. I put a comforter on it while tinkering with some other stuff and sure enough it warmed up.
