Hello all!

Just wanted to say hello. We bought our first TT yesterday! 2000 M21 Roo! It isn't perfect, but the price was right and it will camp! I am a high school coach and father of 3 and 6 year old boys. We wanted something with a small investment to get into camping and make some memories with the boys. Trying to learn all we can and figure out all that we need. If you have any advice, feel free to let it fly!

welcome to the "Roo Kroo"!

the first Roo came out in 1999, so you have one from the second year of production.
a popular mod for that old of a hybrid, is converting the screw clamps, to the newer cargo latches.
Fastech is one of the companies that many buy from, for parts.

Congratulations Axe Man - I hope that name applies to camping and not to being a coach

My advice is:

  • Camp in your driveway first.
  • Camp close to home the second time.
  • Consider how you will camp most of the time. Will it be with hookups or do you plan to dry camp (no electric, no water) or boondock?
  • Bring a pap of paper and pen with you the first few times you go camping. You'll soon figure out what you want/need to do.
  • Don't do as I do and try to mod everything as soon as you get the trailer. Fun, but expensive.
And most importantly

Thanks all! I'll look into the clip mod. We won't be able to travel to camp until the end of May, but have been having a blast with it in the driveway. We are wondering why we waited so long to do this!
