HELP!!!

In my 23IKSS the awning, the kitchen side slideout, the water heater, and patio lights have suddenly stopped working while we are camping. I have checked all the breakers and fuses in the panel box and they are all fine. It went out last night while we were sleeping. I am not sure what to check next. Suggestions?

I'm not sure this will help. But I know there are several fuses under the camper along the frame. I'd check those too.

Check the breaker on the shoreline post. Batteries are dead?

The motor in the awning was just replaced last week by the dealer last week and has worked fine since. Could there be fuses somewhere else that all of those items would be connected through?

Oldcoot: have checked the breakers on the post. They are working. The dining room slide works. Plug in electric appliances work. And microwave works.

On the 233 there are 2-3 fuses in the front right corner along the frame. Check those

WFDEric: there were 2 30 amp fuses under the frame. They appear to be good. However, I will get new fuses at the store (if it is open today) and replace them just in case.

A simple volt/ohm/continuity meter would be very helpful here!!
From time to time Harbor Freight has coupons for FREE meters!
I have 3. They actually work pretty good.

Check for voltage to ground on each end of the fuse.
If voltage is present at both ends of the fuse it's probably good.
Remove fuse or disconnect one end and check with ohm scale.
Should be close to zero ohms.

Don't buy fuses you don't need but spares are good to have too.

Not fixed yet! Not sure what is going on. It almost has to be a fuse or a breaker to disable several things, but not everything. Does anyone know if there are any fuses behind the switch panel? Although some switches in the panel are working just fine, all of the things that are NOT working do have switches in that panel.

IT IS FIXED!!! I removed the switch panel and tested all the wires to make sure they were secure. And everything came back on! A simple fix. All I can figure is that when the technician installed the new motor for the awning last week he must have loosened some of the wires. Everything is secure now. And all' right with the world! Now I can relax and enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend.

Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions. Sometimes it just helps to be able to talk to others in order to talk through a problem.

Tom google forest river and call them. Or a local travel trailer dealership. It's most likely something simple (we regulars have no idea about). I wish I had a good answer but I'd even post on Facebook if anyone knows someone that works on these things.

Did you check for breakers or reset button on your converter? You might find two breakers there, often one that controls each side of the trailer.

Glad to hear you got it sorted out. This post brings up a question...

Since these Roos and Shamrocks come with an electrical distribution center which houses breakers and fuses, why in the world are there also fuses scattered around the rest of the trailer? I was doing some initial mods on our new 23IKSS this weekend and as I took off some access panels, I spotted fuses here and there. Sure would be nice if they were all in one location for troubleshooting.

The fuses are scattered all over all trailer makes. I found one on my Coachmen only because I saw the corner of it in a picture I took in an area I couldn't stick my head into.

Shame of it is, I had a Coachmen 2003 Santara class C. I bought a great set of engineering drawings as CAD prints showing every water and electric system on board. Vents to drains and AC and DC systems. Very handy. FR also has good dwgs, I've had 5 or 6 clips, they just don't wish to make them public. Don't think you can manufacture anything in the US without approved dwgs. from a myriad of regulatory bodies.

Your Santara is pre-Forest River, that's why.

Yea, that was sorta the point, all the RV's I have had made dwg's available. Coachmen becomes FR now no dwg's - go figure!
