As for a tracker, if I was to use one, I would install in the refridge bay. Access to 12v and would blend in with all that "chaos". Only drawback is would be inactive with battery disconnect on but would become active when theives take unit back to their "lair" and turn power on to use. An alert goes to your phone and now you can call the po-po!

What about running a pipe through the wheels from one side of the camper to the other and use pad locks on either end ... or something like this. They would, at the very least, have to take the time to cut through the pipe with a reciprocating type saw. They might just move on the the next and easier rig.

a wheel lock can be helpful, just the visual of seeing it attached can encourage a thief to move on to an easier target, the link below is the one we have, very sturdy and well built,

If it's a tandem axle, they can just take the wheel off and go. Would need 4 of them. Bottom line, if they want it, they will take it regardless of whatever deterrent you/we apply.

Sorry for your loss. I think visible deterrents might be your best bet. Hopefully thieves would look for easier targets.

so your advice is what, do nothing and cross your fingers and hope?..... sure, the varsity thief comes prepared and very little will stop him, but there are many more jr. varsity players out on the prowl than varsity players,....... and the easier the target, the quicker the jr. varsity thief will attempt to steal your ball(tt) and run with it, ..... IMO, anything that I can do to prevent the jr. varsity team from scoring is worth trying, ........ or at least that's how I see it,............

Absolutely not, just don't see spending vast amounts of money for something that doesn't really work very well. I made a pin lock and that's the extent of what I do. The pin lock prevents someone from just backing up and hitching, but there are means to bypass it.

Trimax also makes a clam shell cover for the tire. Like the ones the police use to keep you from driving off. I will take a picture of mine when I get home. It is decent construction and repents the tire from rolling or being removed.

The sad thing was I found our camper for sale on Craigslist after it was stolen. Took over 3 hours to convince the police to go retrieve it. Then the police spooked the seller and they deleted the post. My husband and I joke that they probably called and said they were the police. UGH. Eventually it was retrieved and a total loss through the insurance. Huge mess! Some good advice on storing. I think we are going with several of the options listed on this thread. But if they want it, they will get it. INSURE INSURE INSURE.

Didn't get a chance to go to storage, but this is what I bought. It is adjustable for different sized tires. It can be defeated like anything else though. If someone wants it bad enough.

we also had our camper stolen this last spring. Police never found it but on the new camper we have now we bought the SPOT tracking device an mounted it to our TT. I believe I paid 75 for it then its $10 a month. So far we luv the piece of mind knowing where its at at all times.
