How did you add a second battery to the Roo?

I am planning on changing over my ROO from a single Marine battery to Dual 6v batteries. I was wondering if any of you went to dual batteries (12 or 6) where did you put them?

My Roo has a combo Propane / Single Battery cover, and I was interested in seeing how others got around this problem before I reinvent the wheel.

Here is a photo of a Roo with the cover I'm referencing:

Remove (1) propane tank? If cold camping disregard,if not 20# of propane lasts a long time. Youroo!!

That would be the easiest way to use two 6-volts with your setup.

My Shamrock is a bit different than what you have so, for me, it was just a matter of finding two 6-volts that would fit in the battery tray. My batteries are between the dual propane tanks and the trailer.

i don't think that's a stock cover, though it might have been an option at one time. that Roo is a 2006 or older.
most Roo's have just the tanks covered, not the battery.

on my Roo's A-frame, the battery was mounted across. i mounted the two new ones, length-wise and they fit with the boxes bolted and a strap around both boxes.





to get two batteries, you'll have to ditch that cover of yours.

It is a (Standard) cover for Roos.Our (2004) Roo (New) came with that cover & the terrible threaded swing clamps for the bunk ends. Youroo!!

I chose to run 2-12 volt batteries. I built a rack to support them that fits in the space where the single battery was. Wouldn't work with your cover, but I would never go without 2 batteries.
