Like raspivey, it gets old really quick when the "china bomb" phrase is used to excuse improper maintenance and operation.

That's what I was getting at, not calling anyone an idiot. I should have said "most people I've personally talked to" don't pay any attention to maintenance and operation.

60 mph and 300-350 miles per day. We find this a relaxing pace and gets us off the road at 3:00 or so in the afternoon before the campgrounds start to get busy with check-in's!

That's very true most people it seems don't really keep up on maintenance ,tire psi , or much else they use it till it breaks . and these same people drive 50 mph or 60 mph and think their being safe .

88 mph so I can go back in time to beat the horse before the first guy... Seriously, I set the CC for 62, wife sets it for 65. Either way works. Tires are 65mph rated.

I start with greased wheel bearings and E tires at cold 80 psi. Then cruise 65-70 when the limit is 70 or better. This happens when I'm on the open roads in the desert and 100 miles in between towns. We drive up to 500 miles on some days.

I don't concentrate on speed so much as engine RPM. I don't exceed the posted speed limit nor do I drive too fast for conditions. I try to keep my RPMs below 3000 as much as practical because that's where everything "feels right".

65, tried 70 but gas mileage goes down 10 to 15% and 65 feels more controllable. 5 mph isn't going to make that much difference.

I have ST tires rated to 75 mph (although manufacturer rep said they really should be run anywhere above 73 mph). My sweet spot is right around 67 mph. If I inch up to 70 the trailer let's me know she's hanging on tight back there, so I slow it back down.

Really it is about what are your tires rated for and how fast feels comfortable and safe to you when towing. If you start getting tail wag you are going too fast.

My first RV 2017 FORESTER 2861DS ...I Like to always check the air in my tires cold..max is 85psi. I put 80 in them and check them once a month. I notice that that big E450 FORD runs good around 60 to 65mph. Have fun..stay safe GOD BLESS..

75-80 or whatever the speed limit is. Usually 55-65 in the mountains unless its real foggy or bad weather.

OP... there are a lot of threads dealing with this already. Hopefully we don't have to keep beating this poor horse.

However, the last time I passed an electronic speed sign, while texting my senator, eating a donut and drinking a Bloody Mary, I snapped this photo.

I try to stay 60 - 65 MPH. Mainly because of the poor road conditions in our local states........ and stopping distances. It takes a LOT further to stop a truck and trailer than it does a car...........................

My truck seems to want to run at around 72 MPH on the interstate, the RPMs are right around 2000-2100 at that speed in 6th gear. Any slower than that, my RPMs drop out of the powerband, and I'm downshifting to 5th for any little hill. E tires, inflated to 80 PSI, with TPMS. The fact that they raised the speed limit on the local interstates to 70 is a plus. Now for smaller, state roads, I'm usually around 50-55, in lower gears.

Usually tow at about 5 mph under the limit, weather permitting. When traffic is heavy, as it can be here in the East, I adjust speed to keep a cushion in front. Also, I do all I can to avoid getting caught in a pack. When passing through a large metro area and traffic is very heavy, we will stop and get a bite to eat or just relax and stretch our legs for a bit.

Arizona for trailers has an unposed speed limit of 65 MPH. CA has a posted speed limit of 55 MPH for Three Axles or more.
