I keep waiting on a post here that echoes the old refrain............."Montana has spots where the posted speed limit is "unlimited"..........in small letters, those sign say "Fords, do the best you can".......
(Insert whichever brand you don't like the mostest. LOL)
It does amaze me how fast some of you drive pulling these things. I wish roads were electronically automatic, and everyone was forced to drive the same speed, with spacing. No more wrecks! And going through and around Atlanta might not be fatal, or so worrisome!!

I drive 105kph in Canada.
I recall one trip coming back from the USA, ( I was in my car) I was following a group of Rv transporters.
They were doing about 135kph. ( 80 ish mph?)
Crazy.

And that's the point.
My "sweet spot" -- mileage/power -- is 62 mph. But only on really good roads.
Our reason for RV-ing is to smell the roses. Can't do it at 70.
I have traveled at mach 1.6.......don't need speed much.

55-60. Because what's the rush. But also RW 2608WS comes with 14" tires (c load/6 ply). They just feel too small for an overall 30' TT. Did 15k last summer out west with factory Constancy brand ??) but held up. So doing another trip on them this summer and that's it. I keep it @ 55-60 just to be safe. Sure would feel a bit better if I could find a reliable tire with a D load rating.

My co-worker was pulled over by Washington State Patrol for doing 70 in a 70. The patrolman said that when towing a trailer, you must obey the posted "Truck" speed limit which is 60. His trailer is 28' long. He was given a warning.

Back in 2008 on IH 20 in Ft Worth, we were going 70 and all of a sudden, cars behind us were pulling over to avoid the wood, metal, and rubber that I was distributing all over three lanes. $5153 later, I got new tires, balanced them, added TPMS, Nitrogen, keep them covered when camping, keep them on wood when camping. It only took me one time to slow down below 65. To each his own,,,,,me???? I err on the side of safety and we enjoy seeing more while on the road in a slower motion.

Same for my truck, its happier at 72 in 6th vs. 65 in 6th. 2500 vs. 2100 RPM.
3.21 geared 5.7 hemi 8 speed 1500 2wd.
I keep it at 65 even though I upgraded to 75 mph speed rated trailer tires. No rush, going camping!

I go 60-65 in our Sunseeker 3170ds as we don't need to rush anywhere being retired. We don't like driving at night particularly and try to arrive at our destination park around 4ish and do all the hook ups and get settled. This works out great for us.
Always stay in slow lane even if the truck ahead is going a little less than 60..like I said who cares and I find it most relaxing hearing that Ford V10 humming along smooth as silk. I use only synthetic motor oil by the way.
Planning a trip this Fall along old route 66 and we are looking forward to it!

My Duramax will pull our TT very fast but prudence keeps me at about 65 MPH. My TT tires are rated for 75 MPH.

First of all, my tires are Maxxis 16" E rated, 10-ply ST with about 10K miles. I check their cold pressure every morning that we are set to tow out and I put them right at the mfg recommended 80psi. Additionally, I have a TST monitor set and I watch for erratic pressure or temp swings.
Ideally, I like to tow at the tires E-rated 65mph. BUT...I do consider primary factors road condition and weather. While the tires were somewhat new, I found myself cruising at 70 to 75 while driving along flat, straight, newly re-paved interstates in dry clear weather with little or no other traffic. The truck and trailer handled the higher speed just fine though the mpg dropped from 11.5 down to 10mpg.
Lastly, my wheels are rated to handle 110psi and I am considering my next tire replacement will be to Sailun commercial truck tire S637 235/80R/16 G-rated @110psi. Need to confirm with HiSpec that the wheels are ok for High Pressure.

The truck seems to like 67-68 mph for fuel economy. But if we're passing, I don't mind running it up to 75 if I need to.
The tires are rated for 75 mph.

60 mph, 5th gear, just over 2000 rpm. Lowest trans temps and good gas mileage. 275 miles a day max. Happy hour starts around 4:00 pm. Retirement rocks!
Safe travels.

My exact sentiments. I usually set the cruise control at 60 and stay in the slower lane. I try very hard to limit it to a tank full of gas per day which is about 325 miles and that's enough. You're right this is supposed to be fun what's the rush. The difference between 60 and 65 is about 2 MPG and in the overall picture might cut a half hour out of your daily travel time not to mention the extra strain on the tires.

Have E tires on TT but stay at 60-63 to ease stress on old driver. At 60-63 in slow lane of interstate I don't run up on slower vehicles in the FAST lane which would annoy me to no end. I hate slow vehicles in the fast lane, don't know why they live in the left lane! Drives me crazy; thus 60-63 in the right lane.
