How long did it take for your Roo to arrive?

We placed an order with our local dealer for a Roo 21SS back in March, and I am going crazy waiting for it to get here! The dealer ordered it on March 28 and told us it usually takes 5 to 6 weeks for them to be delivered. It has almost been 5 weeks now! I stopped in last weekend to check on it, and our salesman said it had not been serialized yet and that he would know more once that happened. I don't want to be a pest and call every couple days. I am anxious to see it because we have actually never been in a Roo. I checked out the Jayco version at a Camping World in El Paso visiting family over Spring Break and fell in love with the floorplan. My DW thinks I am nuts because I am constantly looking at pictures of the Roo online. She tells me I am looking at trailer porn! I like the looks of the Roo better than the Jayco version, but I hope I have not made a mistake buying a trailer I have never actually physically seen. We are moving up from a Rockwood PUP 2318G. Long story short, I was just wondering what kind of timeline other people had experienced when having a FR trailer on order? Is the 5 to 6 week wait accurate?

More like 8-12 weeks and Ive heard the Roo line has been a real big seller this year. The plant is running at capacity, just depends when the dealer got his order in! Saying when they put it in and when they really did are sometimes two different things ! It come though and it'll be a 2012 !!

That's funny.

I put in my order on March 15 and was told to expect 8 weeks. I figure I'll call next week to speak to the sales guy. I'll be fine if they can get it to me by week 10, but I'll have to make some slight changes if it goes past that date.

I stopped in yesterday to talk with the service guys. Between discussing batteries and LED lights, I also asked them if orders have been delayed. They've heard the factories are pushing them out but trailers are oftentimes sitting on the lots in Indiana waiting for drivers. They also heard that some dealers are starting to make their own trips to the factories to get the trailers.

I'm getting a Shamrock, which shouldn't matter because they are the exact same thing as the Roo except for interior colors. Which Roo did you get?

Oh man...not what I wanted to hear! I figured 5 to 6 weeks was wishful thinking! We put down our deposit on March 22, and dealer actually placed the order on the 28th. We ordered the 21SS, but I also liked the 23SS. Decided on the huge open floor space of the 21. We have a small wiener dog herd so that was important. It's going to be hard, but I guess I will survive the wait. I am an immediate gratification kind of guy so this is torture! 2012 model? I have seen some listed as 2012s while drooling online. They look identical. I hope it has the full cabinet going across the top of the slide. It looks like some of the early 2011s had the 2 part cabinet with smaller doors. This is a small detail but does anyone know if the cutting board that covers the entire galley sink comes with every Roo? Some pictures online show it, some not. Hope it does since there is no counter space. That is the only con I see, but we do most of our camp cooking outdoors so I can live with that. DW is having hip replacement surgery on June 6 so with luck it will get here in time for a quick trip before that since the rest of our summer will be shot. We are both teachers so the summer is the only time to get in a long camping trip. But we will look forward to some weekend fall camping.

We ordered ours Feb. 18ish and picked it up at about 8 weeks but it sat at our dealer for a week, they were booked solid with pickup appointments. We got a 2012 so I would assume everything since then is a 12 as well. Not that we noticed any changes at all. Love it so far, first trip is 2 weeks out now.

I haven't seen or heard of any changes from 2011 to 2012. Of course, there is one benefit to a '12 and that is the slightly higher resale value of the trailer in the future.

Since I brought off the lot I was wondering if you had to pay in full when the dealer places your order. My dealer said he could order one but that it would cost more. Mine was set as a price lead (low price to draw people in).

With the arrivial of spring it must be hard to wait...

I don't think we paid anymore than we would have if the dealer had it in stock already. Could have got a cheaper price at one of the wholesalers, but after factoring in delivery cost or fuel cost of picking it up ourselves it would not have been worth it. Plus my family has a long history with our dealer and we have a lot of confidence they will take care of us long after the sale. They just asked for a $500 deposit to place the order.

Great news!! I got a call this morning from our salesman...Our new Roo 21SS came in!! We got to go see it for the first time in person, and we love it! We should be able to take delivery by Wednesday next week. So our 5 to 6 weeks delivery time was accurate after all. This coming Monday would have been exactly 6 weeks. Can't wait to get her home and break her in.
