How long was the wait... after order?

Our camper is on order and they said about 12 weeks which would put us mid-March. Just wondering what others have experienced. Shorter / Longer?
I know we are almost there but getting more excited the closer we come.

Once the camper comes in what advice can you give us other than doing a walk thru? We never purchased a new camper.
Thanks!!

It depends on when you ordered. I ordered a few days before Christmas in 2012. Was told the factory was shut down and would start up a week after the new year. Mine was ready by the third week of Feb. The longer you go into the year the longer the wait. Sales/orders pick up after the RV shows begin nationwide and the time frame gets longer.

At delivery schedule as early in the day as possible and let the dealer know you will take at least two hours etc..Our dealer made a video tape of the PDI and gave it to us as flash drive.

Congratulations and enjoy your new RV!

We ordered our Sabre in late Feb '12. Dealer said 6 to 8 weeks. It was at the dealer 7 weeks to the day we placed the order. What kind of camper did you order? Reason I ask is you have to factor in delivery time too. The transport drivers can pack several pop ups on a flat bed but larger units are delivered one at a time.

Whne we ordered our Sabre at the end of Jan 2012, we were quoated 8-10 weeks, but it came in in 7 weeks. We didn not complain at the lack acuarcy in their build estimate.!

It was the camper we ordered. We were told that weather and the thanksgiving holiday slowed things up. We can't do driveway camping either. Actual build time is three to four days once they get started on them. Then it's several days for there decals and inspections. After that it's up to whenever they can get it pulled to your destination depending on weather.

Thanks everyone!!!
Sounds like there is possibility of it coming earlier than promised. If not it's just the way it goes. . Either way it will be worth the wait.

Also a good suggestion to go first thing in the morning to take delivery. We're going to check the camper over really well. Anything we should look closely at for the bunk ends? I've heard some say the seals weren't correct around the bed. Should the seal go completely around the opening??
Anything else??

Thanks so much! This forum has been awesome!

Also check the underside. If it was pulled through roads that were treated with salt solutions you may see corrosion starting on the nuts, bolts and metal on the under belly. They should clean all that off for you. Took delivery on ours in December in Florida, didn't look under it till we got it back to Texas, what a mess and what a time I had cleaning it up.

Check the rubber roof for wrinkles and excessive caulk when the weather gets better mine is going back in. If I would have seen it first would not have taken it .
