How you treat your black tank......

With all the product out there, what do you use?

Thanks,

Jim

I use the "Geo method" with Calgon water softener. No need for chemicals.

X2 on this. Have now used it on two trailers. Way better than drop in chemicals.

bluestreakchem.net I mix it about 4 to 1. Otherwise it is a little to perfumy. Very simple to install. You won't be sorry you did it.

Excellent Advice! Thank You. I was wondering myself because our TT is older, and when we purchased it, it had been winterized but still had somewhat of an industrial chemical smell inside. We did purposely purchase the Clear Drain Attachment, which I would advise all to use, so as to see what's coming out and how clean / clear it is.

I will definitely give this is a try. Thanks again for the info / link.

We have yet to do any dry camping so I may not be the best source of advice. I try to enforce a "no #2" rule in the camper since there is always a bathhouse nearby. The only exception is if nature calls in the middle of the night.

We use this in the grey tank:
Walex TOI-61776 Elemonate Grey Water Deodorizer and Cleaner

And this in the black tank:
Walex TOI-91799 Porta-Pak Holding Tank Deodorizer

So far so good.

Sounds just like our "house rules" when we are out camping. We also try to scope out a spot close by a shower house / bathroom with a water spigot whenever possible.

Where do you get your Walex products from? Are they readily available?
Always good to have other options.

Amazon carries them and lots of other RV supplies. I'd say 90% of the stuff we picked up for the camper came from Amazon.

Thank you, much appreciated.

This "indoor plumbing" is all new to us. Our last 2 campers were Pop Ups with no bathroom luxuries. How did we survive?
