I need help

We're driving down to TX from MI on Sunday, staying the first two nights west of St. Louis and then to Lubbock. Every day/night for the last week there have been tornado warnings along that route. Tell me it's going to be okay and I shouldn't be freaking out and my family and I aren't going to need to huddle in the storm shelter. LOL

You have done well so far and try not to worry. Yesterday and the previous days & nights have come and went. Everything will be OK.

Please do keep us updated when you can. Safe travels!

I just checked the 10 day for both locations, and it seems clear as of right now. I was in an EF2 when I was 7, but a mile wide EF5, no thanks! We have little tornadoes here.

What is your route Mom? We are smack dab in the middle of Tornado country so I feel your pain and understand -- perhaps you could stay north of everything and then cut down?

The storm is VERY fluid right now and the first wave is blowing through AR right now and will hit AL later tonight

The storms that we encounter in the spring in this area are not to be taken lightly but certainly nothing that should deter you from exploring the beautiful areas we have in Texas and the surrounding states. As always, just be prepared. My advice would be to have a weather radio and if you have a smart phone keep your eye on weather radar if you feel bad weather may be moving in. Most state parks and such have shelters designated as storm shelters if you do have to seek shelter. Have a safe trip and

Keep an eye on the weather before and during your trip via the Weather Channel app or Weatherbug app. I am a bit of a weather fanatic so I purchased a midland NOAA weather radio that I keep in the camper which will signal a warning in the event of a problem (just in case we are asleep). Just got to program in the local NOAA towers which is pretty simple and easy to do.

Just went to and came back from Texas last week, I live in Illinois. **** EDIT - IGNORE THE Where are you going question - apparently I can't read - END EDIT **** Where are you going and which route are you taking? We took US 69 and US 75 to Ft. Worth from I44 on our way there and it was one heck of a bumpy ride. Wound up taking I35 back from San Antonio all the way to I44. Life was much better on the way back but there were about $20+ in tolls. Totally worth it in my opinion!
