Insulated heat duct?

The heat duct in my 2016 23ikss from the furnace to the bathroom is only a foil wrapped coil. It also weaves through some of the water lines and rests on the water pump. Would replacing the foil duct with insulated ducting harm the water system? The water line from the fresh tank runs under the trailer for a few feet unprotected from the weather. Could the foil ducting be an engineering solution to help keep the water lines from freezing?
Hoping to get a warmer bathroom!!

Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner. As poorly as it is, that's part of the reason for it being like that. (the other is it's cheap) They figure that it'll help keep the lines from freezing. On some units they leave a duct open in the underbelly.

While it won't harm the water system per se', see above for the reason you may not want to insulate it.

Having said that, shortening the ducting as much as possible and straightening out as many bends as possible would certainly help the flow through it. also, you may be surprised to find debris blocking the ducting.
