Is your shower water hot?

We have been trying out every part of our new camper in the driveway. The shower did not seem to produce enough hot water to shower without it going cold in a few minutes. Is there a temp control or something?

What he said. But, no, there is no temp adjustment.

Also check your outside shower. If those valves are open hot and cold water can mix at that point, too.

Do you have both electric and gas on? Using both nets you more hot water.

Are you taking navy showers or letting the water run?

The water is warm, so I assume it is not on by-pass. The kitchen sink gets pretty hot, but the shower, with nothing but hot turned on, seems lukewarm after about 5 minutes. I had the hot water on on propane all afternoon, with the camper plugged in to power. I can't believe that's all the hot water I can get.

You have a six gallon water heater, that's not a lot of hot water. Are you taking navy showers? If not you should.

I'm not taking a shower to time it. I'm watching to see if it is hot enough. It's lukewarm, and no cold is on at all.

Fill a bucket and see if you have 6 gallons of hot water. Water flows faster than you would think and a 6 gallon tank will empty pretty quick. You will still get warm water if it is bypass. I would look at that first.

I've been running it on propane and the water was very hot. Today I switched over to electric and it is not nearly what I would call hot water. 2015ikss

When cold water is coming from shower do you still have hot water at kitchen? I'm thinking that cold water is mixing in at the shower faucet. Not sure how or how to test theory.

Hijacking threads? Start with cold water in WH see if it ever gets warm. I betting it doesn't. If not you need a element.

X2 And be sure the faucet handles are closed.. not just the shut off valve on the hose or shower head if so equipped.

Did the shower start hot?
If it did how long did you run the water before it started to cool?
On the electric side
Is the breaker turned on in the panel?
Is the water heater plugged in?

You need to take navy showers when using the trailer.
Turn on water get wet, stop water flow, soap up start water flow and rinse.
As stated you most likely have a six gal. water heater so you have to change the way you shower.

most common causes are WH is in bypass or outside shower has valves open, causing mixing of C and H.

first you need to check the WH valves pictured in post #3.
tell us which is like yours.

If your handles are in the correct position as the post 3 shows and your outdoor shower is off handles closed no water at all. Then if you need hotter water the only way is to get it is a different thermostat. they sell higher temp stats. very easy to change two wires a one screw....

Do not assume your valves are in the correct position, check them and verify. If the valves are in the correct position for summer usage then you have a different issue that we can help you fix.
