Do you like rubbing it in? or Do you like giving away secrets to the folks that don't live in Arizona.

I'm originally from a cold climate, so maybe I'm rubbing it in a little... I hope it doesn't come across as too obnoxious, that is not my intent.

Inquiring minds would like to know.

Yes, winters in AZ are great, but summer ain't so wonderful. How much camping do you do in July? Can you get high enough in the mountains for it to be bearable?
I am still looking for the "perfect" place to live. Have considered Flagstaff, but cannot afford the health insurance.

We were at the Tortilla Recreation Area near Canyon Lake (about 12 miles east of Apache Junction). It was a really nice campground. The Phoenix area is hardly the perfect place to live (for a variety reasons), but we are able to camp year-round. In the summer we can go to either the Mogollon Rim, Flagstaff or White Mountains to escape the heat.

I loved the Flagstaff area. We were there for 2 nights when we visited the Grand Canyon in July and it was very very nice weather wise. What is that fencing around the trailer for? Is that for the big dogs? Does it keep them in?

We have four large dogs that accompany us. Fortunately the fencing does corral them, although each is definitely capable (if they wanted) of breaching it. We don't leave them unsupervised in the "yard," but they know their boundaries within it. We tried long leashes prior to getting the foldable fences, but that was a nightmare of entanglement...

During the summers we leave and visit your location. That way we have 12 months of great camping weather.
If you are trying to find the perfect place it all depends what your criteria is for a perfect place. For my wife it shopping malls and people.
For me... well whatever my DW wants. LOL

So envious
I'm thinking I should have waited a few months to buy my Roo! January in Michigan means no camping fun for me (pouts). I don't have much patience and I am ready to start the season!

Drag your new Roo out west for its inaugural trip! The desert's a great place to winter camp.

Like biken201 said; Head south to Arizona like many from MI.
That is if you are retired and leave.

But you can start stocking the Roo so you will be all set when the time comes.

We purchased our Roo at the end of November and spent many hours enjoying it over the winter. When we finally were able to take it camping in the spring we had everything in its place and we were comfortable with all of the systems except the fresh water, black and gray tanks.
