Just picked up 19ft 2012 Roo

I'm so disappointed after waiting 7 months for our Roo, we have it at home and are looking over and cleaning up the saw dust and metal burrs at tent ends and we find a hole in roof. The assembly of this and the mess reminded me of my first and last north American car. All I can say is you would not see until sunlight was on it and for our inspection we were inside. I guess we will be going after our first warranty claim before our first camping trip. I hope that this will easy and not a song and dance along with a fight.

You are not alone to find items like this. When my son picked up his brand new 2012 roo from the dealer I went myself for my own inspection and this is what I found on the roof. Nobody ( factory or dealer noticed it ) Can you imagine on a long run what kind of damages this negligence would have ended up!

Sorry to hear this Patkins. It's never good to start out this way when your purchase should be a happy one.

Your dealer should put you at the front of the line for something like this. If the trailer was sitting outside in their lot there may be damage so have them inspect it. This will start a paper trail and could be useful later on.

Keep us informed.

I'm going to make a phone call Monday and see what happens. I will not settle for patch it's new and a hole in the roof on a tent end is a issue. I'm sitting in my driveway watching a movie and having a beer this so far could be worse but we will see.

Congrats on picking up your new Roo!

Sorry to hear about the hole in the roof as you have already said is disappointing. Most repairs can be taken care of promptly so I won't worry unless you start to encounter signs of a problem with the dealer.

On a happier note have you been practicing driveway camping yet? It's a great way to get to know your RV before hitting the road.

To me cleaning up factory dust or shavings means you have a new RV to use. Factory dust is the only dust I'm happy to see.

You waited 7 months??

I am just curious as to why you had to wait 7 months? We ordered our Roo in February and it is due to come off line April 30. Now I am getting a little concerned if you have been waiting 7 months. By the way-I am sure your problem will resolved quickly and you will be enjoying your camper in no time. Good LucK!

Well I waited 7 months bought at October show on factory order for a 2012. I waited for pickup because the warranty starts on pickup and was no need to have over winter. I have spent weekend doing driveway camping learning and testing every feature. We drove home after picking up Roo with a 70 km/h side wind and pushed every limit of our 2001 pathfinder thank god for our weight distribution and sway control.

I was just curious. I've heard alot of bad about the local dealer here and alot of people I know won't deal with them because of apparent bad service (no real examples), but the few issues I've had were addressed right away and I've had no problems with them. Hope things workout the same for you.

BTW- just read this cause of the title, I have a 2011 Roo 19 that I bought new in Aug 10...

Wow! I thought I was disappointed with some of the things I found with mine, but you have more to be upset about than me. (I'm sympathizing with you, not trying to make you feel worse)

I trully hope they fix this for you and SOON. Keep us posted of how it turns out.

Good luck!

James
