Kayaks...
How do people carry kayaks while towing?? Curious what all the possibilities are... We have newly acquired a 11.5 foot, a 10 foot, and a 6 foot (kids). We tow with a Dodge Ram with a 6 foot bed.

If it were me and those boats: truck top rack for the longer boats and truck bed for the shorter ones.

With our 2007 23SS, that had the old bungees and snaps canvas, we'd just load them into the hybrid, through the tent ends.
Apparently you can't do that with the newer pre-attached canvas.

We have some J racks on top of the truck. You can enlarge the photo if you need to. As Ependydad said, put the longer ones on top and the short one in the bed.

Would very much prefer not to put them in the Roo, but yes you could technically unzip the emergency exit screen and slide them in if needed.
We're hopefully getting "ladder racks" for the truck, and DH is going to attempt to install them with clamps since he doesn't want them permanently screwed into the truck.

This won't help anyone that already has a hard shell kayak, but we opted to get Hobie i9s inflatables with the mirage drives - deliberately chosen because we always want our boats available, but want easy transportation. We can fold them up and store them under the bed in our fiver. These are the best kayaks we have ever owned.

TracRac on the truck bed. Holds our (2) 14' kayaks. I taped half of a pool noodle on top of each rack for padding. Kayaks sit upside down and are secured with ratchet straps.

Check out the Yakima truck rack:
https://www.yakima.com/outdoorsman
Very sturdy and easy to take on & off. You need 2 sets of uprights, cross bars, and cradles or blocks to go on the bars. Very happy with this rack.
Picture of the old short bed truck with two 10 foot kayaks and one 14 footer.

Thats what I use. Eight hundred pound limit means you can get a lot of gear on there with no problems. They make a wide variety of accessories to go along with it.

Our tent end windows completely unzipper, both the canvas and the screening. At least I'm certain one end does, I don't think I ever opened the other end.

We have 4 kayaks that are 12 to 12.5 feet each and carry them with a second vehicle on a custom kayak trailer. Wilderness Systems and Jackson kayaks, fairly heavy. Love em. Works out as we are two couples who always camp together.

We have ordered a set of truck racks and received today but clamps haven't come yet (hopefully tomorrow) and then we can install. Using clamps instead of drilling so racks aren't permanent.

I also use TracRac ladder rack system. I added the cantilever option and went with the sliding rack/rail system. I can carry 6 flatwater longboats with this ranging from 17' to 10'. We also whitewater and I can carry 8 WW boats on top by adjusting the space between front and rear rack and can put 4 more boats in truck bed during shuttle services. I add vertical stacker bars to make all that happen. When I travel on the road my truck bed is full of camping gear, and I limit kayaking gear to paddles, life jackets, safety equip - no boats. The sliding rack system by TracRac allows you to move the racks out of the way when not needed so truck bed is available to carry other oversized cargo, or even take the rails completely off and store somewhere. Your choice. Pretty neat system. Photos show 3 boats loaded during stopover in GA en route to FL last Dec.
