Smile Keypad Door Lock

I am interested in changing out the door key lock with a keypad lock.

Any recommendations, or better yet, words of caution?

Cheers~

We have this one: RV Lock
Have not had any problems, no need to carry a key. Had it installed by factory when unit was in for warranty work. Key FOBs are nice but have not really used them that much. Buttons light up at night for ease on the eyes.

Looks like a really nice addition and very convenient. I would love one but I can think of lots of other things I would rather spend $250. Way easier than carrying extra keys and your whole family can get in without the who's got the key!!
On my wish/birthday list

We were fortunately able to get the factory to install at no cost.

Just found a Bauer keypad on eBay for $50 w no keys. Got the lock today and ordered 2 keys from them for $9. Key code was noted on the back side of the mechanism. Looking forward to hikes w/o keys in my pockets! $60 is a great deal for a $250 lock!

Lucky you

NICE fly! Campers world has them on sale for $159. And Of course right after I ordered one from rvupgrades.com for $169/with free shipping

I look forward to.letting our daughter run back to the.camper and not have to depend on me to give and get back the keys.

Next thing is I want to stash a door key outside maybe under the camper for emergencies dead batteries and lost keys.

Cheers~

Bauer

Thanks Doc. You know when you make a change and you are not certain on which product to purchase. Sounds like we made the right choice.

bauer

I had bought a Bauer Key pad lock a few years ago off Ebay. It worked for a year, and did not work very well. Once it finally failed I called the manufacturer Bauer and they were very nice and sent me a new one right away. Bauer asked me where I got it from and told them Ebay. She said there was a bad batch of defective locks that went out and were being sold by Ebay middlemen and not by Bauer. The new one she gave me has worked flawlessly for over a year now. I believe my original Bauer bought for $150 was one of the bad batch locks. Anyway good lock. Strongly suggest buying the best Lithium for electronic batteries. They last me about a year while the alkaline maybe only a few months.

Thanks for the great battery advise!

I have replaced my door 4 times, then 2 years ago I bought one of the RV Locks and that alone fixed my problems with my door not closing. I really like the lock, I paid 125 for it at the FROG Rally. Came with 2 remotes.
