Kitchen Slide - LPG/EL/CBL/SAT Flex Unit

Greetings,
This weekend when packing up and bring the kitchen slide in, I noticed something hanging.
After investigation, it was one end of a large plastic band, broke off at the bolts.
Being loose on one end, it cannot guide the various tubes when the slide contracts.

So before I contact the dealer, is this something I can repair myself?

Common problem. It happened to me. I used long zip ties to pull them up and out of the way. Dealer could fix it by replacing the broken part with an identical part, which would probably break in a year. As of last year, FR did not have a replacement upgraded part.

I think someone reconnected them with a hinge or something. Do some googling of the forum.

Mine will do that eventually. The best fix is a strap hinge where it broke next to the frame. I've seen this done with no further problems. The hinges can be found at HD or Lowes. Its an easy fix.

The camper frame side has a hinge, it's the connection to the kitchen slide. A new bracket is about $50 and will do it again. Mine was less than a year old. Took 6 months to get the part from the dealer under warranty. Every time I'd call to get a status they would ask if it was under warranty. When it broke it was under a year old and even when it came in I was under the 2nd year warranty. When I went to pick it up they wanted to charge me the $50. When I said it was under warranty they couldn't find my purchase of a year and a half ago. The sales manager came over and wrote it off as an in-store purchase.
