Landing gear

Hi. We have a roo 23ikss and are wondering what others put under the trailer tongue/landing gear of their trailers. Do you have a plate that goes on the bottom of the crank for the landing gear or do you just keep it as the open circle? What do you put it down on?
We bought a little cone thing for it to sit on but we aren't really comfortable with it and after being on a sand site last weekend and almost having a big mishap with it sliding we are wondering what others use. Do you put a cinder block under it or wood or what?

Thanks so much to everyone on the board!!! This is our first year and have gotten tons of great tips from all of you!! Love our roo!!!

All the picture I see online shoe it with either a small circular "shoe" or a wheel on the tube.

We usually leave the circular plate that attaches to the bottom of the tongue on and use some of the lynx levelers under that to increase the height.

I use short sections of 2 X 6's and 4 X 6's, alone or in combinations.

I always use wood or Lynx Levellers under the stabilizer feet. Under the jack foot I use wood, Lynx Levellers or nothing depending on how high I need to get the tongue so that it's level.

I made this from 2×6. The 5 black is one unit bolted together. The others are individuals as needed.

I went with the Fastway 88-00-6500 Flip 2-1/4" Automatic Jack Foot for 2" Jack Tube
Fastway (16) and love it...I lower it onto a lynx leveler if ground is soft

I also just use 2X6's of wood and place under tongue jack plate. I usually use 2 or 3 pieces until I am level. I have a power tongue jack and it dawned on me what if the power failed or got stuck and can't get it to work. Is there a manual override in case this happens? I was lucky and it got stuck the first time I used it, but flipped the two switches a couple of times and it finally started working.

Are the sites that unlevel that you need to add additional boards? I haven't camped anywhere yet where that would be an issue. Guess I would use my Lynx blocks if needed.

It depends, but usually 2 boards gets me level with the ball of my hitch.
