As things turned out, our April trip down the Oregon Coast was our first and last of 2013. Since we're retirees, we tend to avoid the times between late June and Labor Day, when all the schoolkids are out there.
This year, we had family from Japan (son, d-i-l and 2 year old grand-daughter) visiting at that time and had a very busy late Aug/early Sept, including 14 to 17 people at the house all three days of the holiday. We'd planned to leave for a couple of weeks after our Japan visitors went back.
Unfortunately, two days after they left, I had an accident in the garage which ended with a dislocated middle finger on my left hand - don't climb into a 75-gallon wheelie bin to stomp the contents down!
The result is 6 weeks with the finger splinted (now at four weeks), followed by therapy. Since DW can't drive the MH (her feet don't touch the floor, let alone reach the pedals) our season is over. I can drive (it's not easy), but setting up and breaking down camp would be too much.
Bummer! (If I used the Brit word, the double M would be a double G). Roll on April '14!
