On your 2012 the only thing the keyed lock does is keep someone who you don't want doing it, from opening the bunk door. Its not like the new plastic rotovise junk where we need to lock them so they do not pop open on their own. You should still have the heavy duty metal cargo latches mounted up high?
Those cylinders are held in with either a clip form the backside which means you would have to remove the assembly from the door. If its that type the clip should still be inside the housing. Some of them use a "control key" that you insert, turn 1/4 turn, and it releases a spring loaded tang so you can pull the cylinder out.
