Lowest temp's that you have camped in?
Got word yesterday that we will be serving as camp host the entire month of November. Bad news is that here in this area November could be decent, or then again it could turn nasty cold and even have snow! I am praying that this is going to be a mild Nov.
Was just wondering what the worst/coldest temps that you have been out in your Roo/Hybrid in? For how long of a time?

we camped at Yosemite this last April.
a snowstorm hit the Valley while we were there. i'd estimate that it got down to 29 degrees for a couple of nights.
but it warmed up enough that nothing stayed frozen.
we did have about 6" of snow overnight, though.

We camped in Stauton VA in a Keystone Litehouse, similar to the Roo, and it was 28 degrees over night. Furnace ran quite a bit but we stayed warm and had no problems due to the weather. We were there for 4 nights. The campground had a heat tape to wrap around the water hose to keep it from freezing. Since you'll have shore power, take an electric blanket and a space heater or two, helps save on the propane.

We dry camped last weekend and it hit 26 one night and 30 the other 2 nights. I used a lot of propane but it was a nice 74 inside

When we had our Rockwood PUP, we once camped when it got into the teens overnight. It was winter, the camper was winterized so no water to freeze, and we just had to go camping! The heated mattresses and propane furnace worked overtime that weekend. But, we had fun!!

Mid 20s. Dry camping. Killed the batteries because they were shot on the first night.
Ended up going home the next morning. We weren't even mad. Didn't replace those damn batteries for another two years lol. Just made sure we went to places with power.
Stayed in driveway for 7 days with a foot of snow on the ground and mid 20s for the highs about 2 years ago while our hardwood floors were being redfinished in the house.

Like Hatchet58. Elk Camp, November, near Mt. Adams here in Washington many years ago with our Fleetwood Flair. Daytime temps were around freezing, nightly temps in the low 20s. Had to run the generator almost continuously to keep the heat on. Would only shut it down in the evening just before bed and we piled on the blankets. Lasted a week this way but we were cold.
Now if we camp in extreme temperatures, either cold or hot we look for hookups.

those of you without a hybrid or popup, please realize that staying in a trailer with canvas ends, is much different in cold weather than a TT, MH or 5th wheel.
the OP is looking for feedback for a hybrid, not a fully enclosed RV. big difference.

My SIL has a Rockwood 1980 pop up. That thing will roast you out of there. Full furnace system and heated matresses.
I couldn't imagine it being a problem unless there is no power.
Bring a second propane bottle.

Back in '06 the 1st spring I had my popup I was camping on the May 2-4 weekend in Algonquin Provincial Park. We had flurries 1 evening. I had an elec' heater that ending up being unusable. It would sense an overheat condition (from the small enclosed area) & not start back up.
I replaced it that weekend w/ another brand of heater & it worked fine. I still use it in my TT. I'll post the brand & some pics when I get home.

We also had a 1998 Coleman Bayside pop up. Camped in November one year and the night time temperature went down to 21 degrees and very breezy. We had a ball, making soup and playing games with our girls. Unfortunately our rig didn't have a switch over regulator for propane. I manually had to disconnect one bottle and connect the regulator to the other. When did it run out, 2:30 in the morning. I had to wake up the girls to move the front bed in to gain access to the bottle. Froze my once warm butt off in the wind but once it was hooked back up we were warm again in a few minutes. That little furnace was great. I loved that pop up, but no bathroom and three daughters, didn't work for too long. That's when we upgraded to the Hybrid- Keystone Litehouse.

We will have one electric tower heater with us that we have used already. So far the coldest it got on is this last trip was in the low 40's. Stayed nice and warm. Thinking about getting a second heater (can run separate power cord for it) if we need more heat. And then again there is always the furnace that is in the Roo... will have two FULL bottles of gas when we go down to set up. I always use the covers on the outside ends..... that has to help some. Guess we will see just how much cool weather we can stand in it. Don't think I'll push my luck and try for December, January or February! hehehe This past spring we did go out in the PUP (still had that at the time) for the first trip out on March 19. It was the first NICE weekend we had here.

Do they give you an allowance to pay for propane used? Some campgrounds do for the hosts.

Nope, not that I know of. Electric is FREE...... I'll just buy another heat tower and use it. I can use it here at home too.

We had a pretty cold winter here and it hit the 20s a few nights on some of our camp weekends. The heated mattresses came in very handy. The ceiling in the queen slide got a little drippy a few times when the heat was on. We usually only camp 2-3 nights at a time because work gets in the way.
