Maiden Voyage with the Shamrock 23IKSS

We are on the maiden voyage. Four nights at a private campground. We got a full hookup since we have the grand daughter with us.

Everything is working fine but the coupler again refused to release the ball after I got the latch released. After 45 minutes of screwing around I just pulled out the hitch pin and drove the truck forward to pull the hitch out of the receiver. This is going back to the dealer ASAP to fix it.

But for now we are having a great time for four nights of camping with our grand daughter. Fun times for sure !!Click image for larger version

Envious!! Still have cover on our ikss and working on issues. Latest one, lots of tiny beebee's from the kitchen drawer slides. Decided to upgrade to over the counter Lowes glides since it took 7 months to get the slide gas/electric hose bracket under warrantee. Found out the factory actually split the face frame with one of the screws...aagh. Will get there. First trip is boondocking at Hammonassett beach over father's day weekend.

From what I read in another thread, It's a problem with the A frame on certain Roos built in 2016.
I was worried I would have the same problem, but my 23ws was built in 2015

the larger Roo/Shamrock hybrids use a 2 5/16" ball.

The hitch ball is 2-5/16 on my 23IKSS. It has been an issue since I got it with the ball not dropping out after the coupler is unlocked. It unlocks ok but the ball is jammed too tight. I used a small grinder inside the coupler and lots of grease with no luck. I'm sure the dealer will take care of it for me.

Also a problem on my Mini-Lite. Not sure what the dealer is going to be able to do.

This is the coupler used by LCI on the frames they supplied to Rockwood which people are having problems with. It is not people using incorrect ball sizes or any other operator error. Its just another cheap POS part used. All one has to do is look at the price they are offered for sale at to the general public online, and that should be a good indicator of the quality of the piece. LCI is probably buying them in bulk by the c box at $5 each.
