Major Rain and....NO Bunk leaks! But the base of the shower does. Roo 223s

We'll we were worried after all the posts but we had no leaks in all three of our bunks!

Some of the worst storms I have ever camped in (central Wisconsin).

However we did have water that was coming from the base of our shower when someone was using it... And suggestions?

2015 Roo 233s.

Yay for no leaks! Our 2015 Shamrock 233s leaked immediately but not a drop again! I have no idea about the shower though?

most common cause of corner shower leaks, are the short curtains and its edges not blocking sprayed water, especially when it ricochets off of bodies being washed.

most get shower guards common at hardware stores. HD and Lowes both carry them.
usually owner install the tall one on the vanity side and the shorter one on the toilet side.

Actually, many of us put a piece of plexiglass on the cabinet side. I also put a large shower guard on the toilet side. Had to move some of the "rivets" that hold the shower walls to the wall of the trailer and had to caulk the guard, as the double-side tape that came with it was adequate to hold it to the wall going down the road.

Looks like ss screws, but I want to know also. I have the plexiglass, but waiting to find out the proper way to mount!!

Stainless steel wood screws with SS finishing washers like these:

Everbilt #8 Stainless Steel Finishing Washer (50-Pieces)-32712 at The Home Depot

I put several 1x1's across the back of the cabinet for the screws to bite into. Cut the plexiglass and drill the hiles carefully. It will crack easily.

As you can see, my plexiglass only went out to where the shower base stops. In hind sight, I think I would have taken the plexiglass all the way out to the end of the cabinet and down the side to the floor, although it would have made cutting it a little more complicated.

Do you think pop rivets would work for attaching the plexiglass panel to the cabinet? I just found this video and thought it has potential:

I suspect it would work, but I'd have 2 concerns:

1. The plexiglass cracks pretty easy (drill the holes carefully), and I'd be concerned that when that rivet "pops" it would crack the plexiglass.

2. Don't know if the rivets come in stainless steel. If not, I'd be thinking about rust. There's basically a hole left in the rivet that will gather water.

I thought about the cracking too, so I might put some sort of washer between the rivet and the plexiglass. I use rivets to attach things on my fishing kayak and that has been in both fresh and saltwater with no signs of rust so I think it will be ok, but a drop of caulk in the hole wouldn't hurt either.

I'm guessing that you get the plexiglass custom cut from a local shop?

I just went to Home Depot and bought a piece, then measured the cabinet wall and cut the plexiglass myself. Cut carefully. I had to do mine twice due to cracking. Also suggest you make a paper template first. I made an assumption (you know what those do!) that the bottom inside corner was square, so I was a bit off on the final install. It wasn't very much and the caulk I put at the inside wall and bottom seams covered it.

And with the extra plexiglass, you can do this so you can see your auto swapover regulator:

I would think the caulking where the PG meets the wall and shower base would be enough in these areas to keep it secure. I would try it with only one SS screw in the upper corner. A finish washer will have a bit of give to it, so if you just hand tighten the screw with the finish washer, you should be able to do it without cracking it. Another option is to just put a small dab of clear silicon in place of the screw. That should be enough to hold it.

had the exact same issue with my Roo. Water will leak from the sides of the shower onto the floor. I thought it was the tub leaking from underneath at first. Even when trying to be careful, I would end up with water on the floor. Showers just aren't enjoyable when you're being too cautious. Instead of tub deflectors, I've used clamps the hold the shower curtains to the wall while I'm in it. Seems to work pretty well.

Here is what I did. I bought the plastic weather stripping for the bottom of an exterior door $3 at menards. I flipped it upside down and attrached it to the top of the shower base . Then I used clear silicone between the top of the shower base and the stripping. I also added silicone were the stripping meets the sink cabinet. I works really well!

Here is what it looks like. Very simple peel, stick and caulk. My wife said it looks like part of the camper .
