We had mice last year. Sticky traps seemed to work the best for us. So we used them at a property we acquired to rent out. Both the house and the trailer got the stainless steel wool and foam treatment. No mice in either the trailer or the house so far this winter.

I have a rolling log mouse trap in the barn. I use snap traps in the RV but haven’t had any mice yet. The big yellow cat that visits my property frequently, must be doing the job. Just wish I could thank him but he’s too wild and if I put out food he’ll stop mousin.

Decomposing mice do smell. A lot, and for a long time. Pest control guy told me once when I had a dead one in a wall. "It won't get better until it gets worse. He also said if you find one, there are 20 more around. Peanut butter and cheese tied on snap traps with dental floss work for me when I don't snap my hands setting them up. Had a mouse move into my new house before I did. She used the insulation around the dishwasher for her nest. Had another one nest in my husbands work boot in the garage. They sustained themselves all winter
on a bag of bone meal I'd left on the floor. Traps have controlled them since. Good Luck.

Mice

Please don't use poison! It's very probable that if you don't find the critters they will be eaten by pets or other wild life. Still bad, they can get into spaces you can't reach, die there and stink and present a very real health hazard! We have been using multiple things the past 2 years in our 2015 Forest River Forrester! We storage it at our local military base! We also bring home a lot to do cleaning! Mouse traps (they work, but can be messy), expensive bags filled with natural herbs and spices to ward them off! Ironically, I was just talking with my brother in law Larry (he and my sister RV as well and store theirs). I said I'm reallly tired of mousing and ratting, but necessary evil (I don't want chewed up wiring)! He said they have been using Pepperment Oil the past couple of years and theirs is the only RV in storage that never ever has rats or mice! They buy it on Amazon (better quality and lower price)! They put cotton in small open cups! Then they strategically place them inside their RV and outside storage area! The scent keeps the pests away! The peppermint oil is long lasting! It's worth trying! I'm going on Amazaon and buying some pepperment oil! dan

You will see members who have both good and bad results with things like peppermint, moth balls, dryer sheets, and fresh cab. The distinguishing feature is how often it is refreshed, If you put it in in October and do nothing until April you are likely to have mice. I have had excellent results with essential oil of peppermint for 9 years, but I refresh it every month. All these deterrents depend on the item being fresh.

Ditto that. Had a problem this past spring in our ductwork. Exterminator got them out and decontaminated. We put out the Fresh Cab regularly and have not had a problem since (although your camper may smell like a Christmas Tree farm for awhile!)
