Also I have read so many posts about trouble with power awnings that I wonder whether I am better off with the manual one I have. I have to repair the stripped out lag screws holding one of the arms - the dealer said they would put larger screws there but that will only hold for awhile and it'll fail I predict. I'm thinking of filly NSG the holes with epoxy like JB weld or gorilla glue and then install the lag screws.
We'll see if the dealership does anything about the erroneous feature list.

X2 would be better if the OP posted a picture of their awning as there are several brands.

I’d be hitting that dealer up for free accessories or upgrades...like a sprung mattress in exchange for the overcharge of the manual awning. At least 300 bucks worth.

Hybrid trailer mattresses have to fold in half.
So traditional RV mattresses won't work unless the owner removes it before closing the bunk door.

I luv my power awning... so convenient...
If as you say it was manufactured with a manual awning then FINE... use the manual one BUT GET THE BOLTS FIXED CORRECTLY...

I’m with the manual awning crew. I prefer it. I would put three flappers on each side. Run a ratchet strap from awning tube to under trailer frame and let the rain come

I have been using manual awnings for 35 years and just like them better. Takes me about a minute to put it in or out. No motor to go bad. Very easy..........

Sorry for the delayed response I've been away on business, catching up now. Thanks for all the responses.
The awning brand is A&E. Forest River confirmed it was shipped as ordered. The dealership (LazyDaze) has taken full responsibility for the error in equipment listed in on the web page. They have offered to replace the manual awning with a power one. After reading various posts and opinions I may just stick with the manual one and avoid having holes in the side of the trailer that have to be filled. The manual awning seems to be a bit larger than power one and it is angled down which allows water drainage as well a perhaps better shade. The power awning would be convenient but it is one more thing drawing power and that could break.
Another consideration is if power awnings run off of 12v D.C. or 120v AC.
I need to check that out. If it requires more than 12v then I will definitely pass on it. I plan to do mostly primitive site camping.

It runs on 12VDC; but it's one more drain on your battery if you're boondocking.

Honestly I'd probably just stick with the manual awning since it's already on there, but ask for a few hundred bucks in accessories to make up for the fact that you were charged for a power awning thst you didn't get.

Great Thinking Guys !!!
Have you thought about installing legs on the power awning if you get one !!!
It would be something you should thinking about,,, unless you want to put awning away when it wind blows or it rains !!!
I think you can buy a set for somewhere around $200 !!!
