How big is the wardrobe in your roo? I really want to do shelves in our 21dk and I love the fact your wire shelf comes the full depth of the wardrobe. How did you mount it? Thanks!

I drilled 1-1/4" holes on the backside and installed rubber grommets to protect the wires. Also used flexible wire wraps.

My lower wardrobe is 33" x 16-1/2". I used wire shelving from HD, brown vinyl coated by Closetmaid.
I used these drywall anchors. Use the smallest (5/8") to not breech the outside wall.
Used these Closetmaid wall anchors the secure the wire shelf the drywall anchors. (Didn't use the included nails)
Used these end brackets for the wire shelf ends at the side cabinet walls

Hey I really love your wardrobe shelves. I'd like to do the same, but am terrified of drilling through the back of the wardrobe into an outside wall. How did you know how deep was okay to drill? And how do you keep from drilling too deep when setting the anchors?
Thanks!

You can use a drill depth gauge available at Home Depot, Lowes or Orchard Supply. The screws I used were 1-1/4". I only had to pierce the interior Luan plywood. Measure the wall thickness at the entry door where you can see the cross section of the wall.

Measured near the refrigerator access door. The wall thickness is 1-1/2".

jpgowin, one more question for you on your closet shelving. Is your wardrobe freestanding (anchored only to back wall and floor) or do you have storage on either side? My 21ss has a freestanding wardrobe and the side walls are pretty thin. Exactly how thin, I'm not sure, but less than 1/2". I don't know how I am going to securely fasten the end brackets.

My side walls were thin. The brackets seem to hold just fine.

Where did you get combo locks? Did you have to modify to install? Will they hold up with all the elements?

We got our combo locks on Amazon . Have had them about 4 years with no problems! They come in a couple of sizes so you do need to measure your lock.

Not too hard to install, make sure to measure each lock you replace (mine were different sizes)
They seem sturdy enough for long term use. Bought at Amazon.com.

I bought mine directly from the vendor. Don't recall the company but an satisfied by the product. At $25 apiece it's hard to justify replacing all the locks.
I put one on the main curbside compartment of my 21DK. That allows me to store the keys in that compartment and not have to keep track of them when it's in the storage lot. I just show up and the keys are available, but secure.
